With doors opening at 7am during the week, Kaffee Küche is a popular spot for an early morning caffeine fix. Kick-starting the day is coffee from Munich roaster emilo and tea from local stores tea and more and Ambré-Tee.
For those who are peckish at such an hour, Kaffee Küche also does a great breakfast. The carb-heavy menu includes filled croissants, bagels and pretzels, bread baskets served with a choice of spreads and homemade mueslis. The latter includes creations such as “classic fantastic” with oat flakes, banana chips, cashews, pumpkin seeds and goji berries; and “nutty by nature” packed with coconut chips, hazelnuts, pistachios and apple chips. At weekends, they do eggs.
The contents of the fridge counter – central to the cafe – change throughout the day, with home-baked cakes and quiches offering sweet and savoury snacks to visitors. The cozy, rustic interior has great attention to detail, such as old coffee mills converted to lampshades and tables made from wine crates. An additional plus: the cheerful staff, even if early.
