We’re Kate and Rachel, two hungry locals living in Munich. After meeting at a food historian’s party in 2016, we decided to combine our two main interests (eating and writing) to create a website focused on the city’s food scene. Munich Bites covers our favourite cafes, food stands and restaurants – both hidden gems and the bastions of Munich’s gastronomical scene – introducing chefs and restaurant owners along the way.
Kate is originally from London, but has lived in several European cities. Before moving to Munich, she worked as an editor for Slow Food International in Italy. It was here that her love for cheese-focused journalism fully matured.
Rachel is from Shropshire, and has worked as an editor and freelance journalist in Munich since 2008. She mostly writes about culture, which, let’s face it, is pretty thirsty and hungry work. What a convenient coincidence!
